Caring for Your Scalp Every Day

Most people (especially women) want to have a head full of beautiful hair, just like you see in magazines and fashion shows, and that’s the reason for hundreds of creams and treatments that are available in stores.

But many of them neglect something essential – the place where hair strands are “born.” Find out how to care for your scalp every day in today’s article, which will prevent dandruff and help you enjoy more beautiful hair.

A healthy scalp = beautiful hair

To have hair that looks fresh from the salon you don’t need to spend a fortune on products or treatments. First and foremost, you need to take care of your scalp.

Of course you can choose to use whatever hair care routine you like, but if you neglect or damage the region where your hair begins its life, nothing you do will have positive results.

Dryness, excessive oil production, dirt, exposure to sunlight, and poor hair care are the direct causes of most hair problems: baldness or alopecia, dandruff, thinning hair, itching, dermatitis, and more. If you really want to have beautiful hair, first you need to pay attention to your scalp and “attack” the root of the problem (pun intended).

Tips for caring for your scalp

The following recommendations for a healthy scalp will give you great results. Pay close attention and follow them to the letter.

Cleansing

In case you haven’t noticed, this region collects a lot of impurities (dust, dead skin cells, shampoo residue, and more). These can clog the pores of your scalp, keeping your hair follicles from being properly nourished and effectively “choking” the hair to leave it weaker and more brittle.

You should wash your hair more than once a week but not every day – find a happy medium that works for you. When you wash it every day you can have some unwanted side effects, getting rid of beneficial nutrients and drying out your roots.

It’s best to try to wash your hair once every three days and to use a natural shampoo and conditioner (like oatmeal, avocado, or honey) so your scalp is free to develop its own natural oils.

Massage

In addition to being a great way to relax after a long day, a good scalp massage has even more interesting benefits for your health and beauty.

Every day try to give your scalp a circular massage using your fingertips (never the nails) to promote better circulation, oxygenation, and absorption of nutrients, while also removing any dirt or dust that has accumulated. Always use light pressure and if you have problems with dandruff, for example, you can also use any essential oil or a little olive oil.
